Course Details:

This course covers the main sterilisation methods that SSDs use to make instrumentation safe for patients. Covering the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and understand the factors that affect sterilization efficacy. 


You will be provided with a short presentation, followed by an assessment. 

If you achieve 80% or more, you will pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate to place in your training records.

If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 

Aims:

The course will provide learners with an understanding of how to manage all items that are received into the SSD and understand the potential risks of what they receive and handle.

  • Understand Steam Sterilization as a method of sterilization.
  • Understand Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide as a method of sterilization.
