Course Details:

This course will show the different types of wrapping methods that should be used for sterile barriers and it provides an understanding of aseptic presentation.


You will be provided with a short presentation, followed by an assessment. 

If you achieve 80% or more, you will pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate to place in your training records.

If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 


Aims:

This course will take the learner through the different types of wrapping methods that should be used for sterile barriers. It also provides an understanding of aseptic presentation. 

Objectives:

Learners will be able to;

  • Understand the requirements for the wrap methods that are utilized. 
  • Understand the terms tortuous path and aseptic presentation.
  • Understand how to wrap a tray using the Parcel Method.
  • Understand how to wrap a tray using the Envelope Method.
  • Understand to correct follow local SOP for the required wrapping method.
  • Understand how to correctly wrap using a sterilization bag. 

Learning Outcomes:

The learner understands;

  • The requirements for the 2 wrap methods that are utilized in decontamination. 
  • The terms tortuous path and aseptic presentation.
  • How to correctly wrap a tray using the Parcel Method.
  • How to correctly wrap a tray using the Envelope Method.
  • To correctly follow the required wrapping method stated in local SOP.
  • How to correctly wrap using a sterilization bag.
