Course Details:

This course will cover the requirements of PPE for entering and working in the wash area and clean area for endoscopy decontamination.


You will be provided with a short presentation, followed by an assessment. 

If you achieve 80% or more, you will pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate to place in your training records.

If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 

Aims:

To ensure the learner understands the importance of PPE for the EDU wash and clean areas, how PPE can help prevent and control HCAI. How to correctly put on the required PPE and remove PPE to avoid any cross contamination.  

Objectives:

Learners will: 

  • Understand the importance of wash area and clean area PPE
  • Understand the different elements of PPE required to work in the EDU. 
  • Correctly put on the required PPE in order.
  • Correctly remove the PPE in order. 

Learning Outcomes:

The learner will be able to: 

  • Explain the importance of PPE.
  • Explain the required pieces of PPE to work in the wash area and clean area. 
  • Explain how to put on the PPE in the correct order.
  • Explain how to remove PPE and dispose of the PPE correctly including removing gloves.
