Course Details:

The course will provide learners with an understanding of the types of ultrasonic washers available, of the types of medical devices that are suitable for cleaning in ultrasonic washers. Also explain how ultrasonic washers clean and how they are routinely tested.


You will be presented with a short presentation, followed by an assessment. 

If you achieve 80% or more, you will pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate to place in your training records.

If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 

Aims:

To provide an understanding of how and when ultrasonic washers should be used in the decontamination of medical devices. 

Objectives:

Learners will be able to;

  • Understand how an ultrasonic washer work.
  • Understand the limitations on their use.
  • Understand the type of detergents that should be used to maximise the effectiveness of ultrasonic washers.
  • Explain how ultrasonic effectiveness is tested.
