Course Details:

This module helps understand how to manage the risk of all items received into an SSD wash area including used items, loan equipment, brand new instruments & also managing repaired instruments.


You will be provided with a short presentation, followed by an assessment. 

If you achieve 80% or more, you will pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate to place in your training records.

If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 


The course will provide learners with an understanding of how to manage all items that are received into the SSD and understand the potential risks of what they receive and handle.


Learners will be able to;

  • Understand the different terms used in decontamination.
  • Understand the risks of receiving items in the wash area.
  • Manage items received in the wash area and manage any missing items.
  • Manage new and loan instruments received.
  • Manage repair items and how to repatriate them.
